Coach/Trainer Code of Conduct

Participation in City Athletics, Incorporated (“City Athletics”) facility rental requires acceptance of the following. Should you withdraw and return at a later date, the following waiver and releases remain applicable during your absence and continue upon your return. 

All coaches/trainers that are administering or facilitating programming at City Athletics are required to adhere to the following code of conduct:

1. Complete required background checks prior to the start of facility usage.
2. Provide a safe playing environment for the players. Review and practice the basic first aid principles needed to treat player injuries, including learning concussion protocol.
3. Place the emotional and physical well-being of the players ahead of a personal desire to win.
4. Treat each athlete, opposing coach, opposing player, official, parent, and program coordinator with respect and dignity.
5. Recognize that as the coach/trainer, there is a responsibility to ensure the parents on the sideline are also treating each athlete, opposing coach, opposing player, official, parent, and program coordinator with respect and dignity.
6. Refrain from abusive or disrespectful behavior and from profane language of any kind.
7. Timely communication with parents regarding practices and games.
8. Recognize that all players are entitled to an equal opportunity to strive for success.
9. Strive to present an atmosphere that is age-appropriate and corresponds to each child’s maturity and ability.
10. Organize practices that create a positive and challenging learning environment.
